Mr Toad is patron of the Freudenstadt Colloquium
run jointly with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung
since 1991, a weekend usually in late June or
early July in which politicians, academics,
journalists and students discuss topics of
interest to citizens of the European regions.
Participants have included Neal Ascherson,
Herta Däubler-Gmelin, Prof. Joe Lee, Tom Nairn,
John Osmond and Lord Kenneth Morgan.
